Highlights:

  • The Jio 5G network is now supported on two OnePlus Nord devices.
  • Additionally, it provides the October Android security patch.
  • Airtel 5G is already supported by the devices.

In order to facilitate support for Jio 5G, OnePlus has begun releasing new software updates for some of its handsets. Through its community forum, the company has confirmed the release of the most recent updates. The OnePlus Nord 5G and Nord CE 5G are receiving the update. The same update was just released for the OnePlus 10R, OnePlus 10T, and OnePlus 10 Pro.

The Jio 5G network is now supported by both OnePlus Nord devices, which already support Airtel 5G. The most recent software update further enhances the fluidity and stability of the system. Even the October Android security patch is included. Do bear in mind that this is an incremental upgrade that will progressively reach all users.

The company said, “As always, this OTA will be incremental. The OTA will reach a small percentage of users today, and we’ll begin a broader rollout in a few days.”

If they haven’t received a notification for this update, OnePlus users can also manually check for it. To check for the update, people simply need to go to the phone’s settings section and then select software.

The OnePlus Nord, which released in July 2020, was the company’s first relatively affordable smartphone. The phone is not eligible for OxygenOS 13 or Android 13. It will continue to get Android security patches until July 2023. This mid-range device was revealed in June 2021, therefore the OnePlus Nord CE will receive the update. The first OxygenOS 13 open beta update is expected to arrive for the smartphone in H1 2023.

In case you were unaware, last month saw the launch of 5G services in India from Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel, respectively. Nevertheless, just a few cities now offer the service. By the end of 2023, the telecom providers intend to roll out 5G across the entire country. People who live in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and others can take advantage of 5G.
