The US based tech giant, Facebook, is finally rolling out the dark mode feature for mobile users and is available on the main app on Android and iOS. The social media platform in collaboration with notable reverse engineer Jane Manchun Wong announced on Twitter that it is now publicly testing Dark Mode on mobile devices.
A few months ago, Facebook had confirmed plans of Dark Mode support for the mobile app and even started rolling out this feature to limited users; now the firm is expanding the user base.

Jane Manchun Wong, using Twitter, announced the public testing of Facebook’s Dark Mode feature in a video collaboration with the company’s Alexandru Voica.

If a user wishes to turn on the Dark Mode, all he needs to do is go to the “settings” menu on the top right of the app, and click on “Settings & Privacy”. If Dark Mode has rolled out to you, it will be available as an option over here, which you can enable with a simple tap.
Notably, the feature is still not available to every Android and iOS user The companies is just expanding the number of Android and iOS users who have access to it.
Facebook, which also owns other famous applications like Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger, already have the Dark Mode feature, hence, it was never a matter of Whether but When the tech giant will roll out the anticipated feature of its main application.
Back in September, Facebook discontinued its classic design, which made it mandatory to use the new Facebook interface which was rolled out earlier this year. The new design, which began rolling out in March, came with Dark Mode on the desktop.
Even Messenger has the dark mode support for its users since 2019 and the feature has also been available on Facebook Lite now since a few months, so it was only a matter of time before it was rolled out on the main Facebook app as well.
Though Facebook officially has not announced the availability of the dark mode feature from its newsroom website yet, a company spokesperson confirmed the features’ rollout to XDA developers.
Going by the report, the spokesperson from the tech giant said that Facebook was aware that people have been asking for dark mode for a while, and the option will soon be visible in the main Facebook app via settings as the company rolls out the feature globally.
