This month, Apple is expected to introduce new products, but it seems the company will do a soft launch rather than hold an elaborate event. Apple could launch new iPad Pro, Mac, and Apple TV models in October, according to famous Apple analyst and Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman (via MacRumors), though the specific launch date is still unknown. If the rumour is true, Apple will probably quietly introduce new products to its product line on its website and store app, similar to how the Apple AirPods Pro Max over-ear headphones were introduced.
According to the MacRumors report, which quotes Gurman’s most recent newsletter, “the big iPhone 14 reveal last month was probably it for Apple in 2022 in terms of major presentations.” This means that Apple is skipping this month’s event and that its events for the year are likely over. Notably, the same reporter had asserted that Apple would release a number of products this year.

This year, Apple has yet to introduce any new iPad Pro models. In 2021, the company added an M1 chipset to the iPad Pro lineup, which also powers Apple’s MacBooks. Additionally, new Pro PCs with M2 power are expected from Apple. Thus, new MacBook Pros and a Mac mini may be launched.
Apple upgraded this year’s MacBook Air with the same notch that it added to last year’s MacBook Pro model. Gurman has also asserted that Apple would introduce Apple TV this year with an A14 chip and additional 4GB of RAM. According to him, the Apple TV is “getting closer and could potentially launch this year.”
Apple will not bring back Touch ID on the iPhone 14’s next generation, according to a MacRumors story citing Gurman. Despite not having “heard anything about that actually being in the pipeline,” Gurman can envision a new iPhone SE having a Touch ID power button on the side. The expert also speculates that Apple may be exploring sleep tracking capabilities for the HomePod. A similar sleep tracker called Halo Rise was recently unveiled by Amazon.
