Apple Devices That Will No Longer Get Software Updates

Apple unveiled new versions of its iOS, macOS and watchOS during its annual Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC).

With the release of new company software comes a new list of older Apple devices that will no longer getting software updates.

iPhones that will not get iOS 16:

Apple has decided to not roll out iOS 16 to the iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and older devices.

The following iPhones and iPods will no longer get iOS updates:

1. 4 iPhone 7 2. iPhone 7 Plus 3. iPhone 6s 4. iPhone 6s Plus 5. iPhone SE (1st generation) 6. iPod touch (7th generation)

If you want to know which iPhone you have, go to Settings > General > About and look for the name next to "Model Name."

Macs that will not get macOS Ventura:

1. iMac (Late 2015) (includes the 27-inch, 21.5-inch, and the non-Retina models) 2. Mac Pro (Late 2013) (the good old “trash can”) 3. Mac mini (2014) 4. MacBook Air (Early 2015) (11- and 13-inch models) 5. MacBook Air (2017) 6. MacBook (Early 2016) (the 12-inch laptop with Retina display) 7. MacBook Pro (Early 2015) (includes the 13- and 15-inch models) 8. MacBook Pro (2016) (the 13- and 15-inch models)

iPads that will not be updated to iPadOS 16:

The iPad mini 4 and iPad Air 2 are the only two iPads that will no longer get Apple software updates. Go to Settings > General > About > Model Name to know the model of your iPad.

Apple Watch Series 3 will not get watchOS 9:

As reported earlier, the Apple Watch Series 3 will not get the watchOS 3 update.
