Twitter Blue Logo Replaced With “Doge Meme”: Here’s All You Need To Know

Elon Musk Changed Twitter’s Blue Bird Logo To Doge Meme

The famous blue bird on Twitter’s home button was replaced with the Shiba Inu logo associated with cryptocurrency marking an unanticipated turn of events for Twitteratis. This came a day after Elon Musk sought the dismissal of a $258 billion swindling lawsuit accusing him of intentionally inflating Dogecoin’s value.

Musk who acquired the social media behemoth in a $44 billion deal last year, shared a post that included the Doge meme’s visage driving a car and a police officer purportedly inspecting a licence that displayed the “old” blue bird logo. Strangely, only the web version of the app has the Doge logo. The app version of Twitter still reflects the old ‘blue bird’ logo.

In addition to this, Musk also shared a screenshot of his chat with a Twitter user ahead of taking control of the social media platform and wrote “as promised”. The conversation shows the Twitter user responding to Musk’s statement asking if there is a need for a new platform. He asks Musk to buy the social media giant and swap its logo with the Doge meme.

Bloomberg reported a 30% spike in the Dogecoin value following this move by Elon Musk. Musk has been implementing countless changes at Twitter ever since his acquisition. In a latest update, the company announced that it will discontinue its old verification program and introduced subscription-based models to avail the coveted blue checkmarks.

Twitter unleashed a crackdown on legacy blue tick accounts including The New York Times. The firm refused to pay for the blue checkmark and thus, Twitter removed it from their account. While addressing the issue, Musk said that they did exactly what he wanted them to do.

A lawsuit filed by Dogecoin investors was dismissed on Friday by Elon Musk’s legal team as a “fanciful work of fiction” due to the Tesla CEO’s “harmless and frequently stupid tweets” regarding the cryptocurrency.
