Instagram users are permitted to upload photographs and reels to their accounts. Sometimes, you might choose to delete specific media items on the platform that you want to restore later. Thankfully, the social media juggernaut enables the recovery of deleted media.
When you delete something, it is immediately taken out of your account and placed in the Recently deleted folder on the Instagram application. Before being automatically erased, content in the Recently deleted is retained for 30 days. The lifespan of IG stories is as little as 24 hours if they are not archived.

Within a time span of 30 days, you can retrieve deleted content from your account in Recently deleted on the Instagram app for Android and iPhone and choose to restore or permanently delete it. However, this is only applicable to visual media like pictures and movies. Deleted Instagram messages are permanently lost and cannot be recovered.
Follow these simple steps to restore deleted Instagram content:-
Step 1: Login to the Instagram app on your Android or iOS.
Step 2: Click on the small icon (with your profile picture) in the bottom right corner to access your profile.
Step 3: Click on the three lines visible in the top right corner of the screen.
Step 4: After that, select Activity controls and then Your activity.
Step 5: Tap on the recently deleted item in this section. However, you will not see this information below if you haven’t deleted any items recently.
Step 6: Choose the content type you wish to restore from the list at the top: profile posts, reels, videos, or stories.
Step 7: Next, tap the picture, movie, or story you want to recover.Step 8: Tap More Options in the upper right corner, followed by Restore to Profile or Restore to Restore Content. The restored media will now start to appear in your account.
