Apple launched the 1st generation of the AirPods Pro back in October 2019, almost 3 years into its lifespan it is long overdue for an upgrade. As per reports, Apple has given some thought on it and AirPods Pro 2 could enter the market this year. A report from Bloomberg, released earlier this year, mentioned that the upcoming AirPods Pro will not be the only product Apple users can expect, an upgraded version of the AirPods Max could also be rolled out this year.
The all new AirPods Max will come with even more colour options.
The Truly Wireless Stereo (TWS) buds will house the all new H1 chip along with the much anticipated USB-C port for charging. This means that Apple will be parting ways with its revolutionary Lightning Charging port which has been standard on its ear devices for the longest time.

The H1 chipset will also come with a self-adaptive noise cancellation feature along with robust power consumption capabilities as well as upgraded vocal performance. The AirPods Pro 2 may also include a heart-rate detection feature which is not a new claim to be made in the Tech world.
However, the implementation of this feature sounds dicey as it is unclear how accurately the feature would work.
In the reports making rounds on the internet, there is mention of a temperature sensor, though it looks unlikely this feature will make it to the AirPods given it has not even been introduced on the Apple Watch.
Having said that, the temperature sensor is expected to be rolled out this year on the latest Apple Watch Series 8 which could be launched at the same time as Apple would launch its flagship iPhone 14 in September this year.
Apple AirPods Pro 2 will definitely get improvement to its sound profile and include a “combination of customised high-amplitude drive units and high-dynamic-range amplifiers,” as per the report.
Apple could also add more hearing aid capabilities to its new earbuds along with an additional hearing aid function feature, even though no one can be sure what exactly Apple has in store for us until it is unveiled.
