Airtel Introduces Wireless Wi-Fi, Xstream AirFiber Using 5G Plus Technology

Bharti Airtel Introduces ‘Airtel Xstream AirFiber’ Touted As India’s First FWA Service.

Bharti Airtel has launched its 5G Plus powered fixed wireless access (FWA) service known as “Airtel Xstream AirFiber”. The business plans to gradually roll out this service in Delhi and Mumbai before finally making it available nationwide.

Airtel recognizes the fact that fiber to the home is essential for an ultimate Wi-Fi experience while acknowledging the need to bridge the experience gap for others. Shashwat Sharma, Director of Consumer Business at Bharti Airtel, expressed delight in launching Xstream AirFiber for Delhi and Mumbai.

Airtel Xstream AirFiber addresses the issue of last-mile connectivity in urban and rural areas and provides a solution for areas that do not have fiber infrastructure. The system makes use of Wi-Fi 6 technology to provide extensive indoor coverage and up to 64 devices with simultaneous access. The Xstream AirFiber is a portable gadget that deploys wireless internet connectivity.

To get started you simply need to purchase the Airtel Xstream AirFiber device, download the Xstream AirFiber app, and integrate devices with them. The app may be used to manage the device without any obstacles.

The Rs 799 package includes access to the wireless home Wi-Fi service, which offers speeds of up to 100Mbps. This plan has a six-month availability and requires a 2,500 rupee upfront, refundable security deposit. Visitors to specific Airtel outlets in Delhi and Mumbai can choose Xstream AirFiber to get the service.

Bharti Airtel recorded consolidated revenues of Rs 37,440 crore in the first quarter of 2024 with a 14.1% YoY growth. Consolidated mobile data traffic reached 15,078 petabytes during the quarter, representing a significant YoY growth of 22.7%.

India’s first quarter of 24 revenues totaled Rs 26,375 crore, a significant 13.1% YoY increase.

Bharti Airtel has expanded its presence and product lineup in the telecommunications industry with the launch of Airtel Xstream AirFiber and positive financial results.
